About Us
We meet at 7 PM on the second Thursday of most months. Most meetings are in-person at the Parkinson's Center YMCA and by ZOOM.

Our mission

To provide moral support and fellowship to people with Parkinson’s Disease, their families and care partners.

To raise awareness and disseminate information regarding living well with Parkinson’s Disease.

To act as a resource center for members and others who would like to know more about living well with Parkinson’s.
We are not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are organized more like a club or a friends group.
We are a grass roots, volunteer led group. We accept donations
Funds collected are used for:

Paying for website hosting fees

Paying for Zoom license costs

Subsidizing our summer picnic and winter party

Stand up for Parkinson's

Stand Up to Parkinson’s is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease and helping local Parkinson’s patients live more rewarding lives.
Since founded in 2019, Stand Up to Parkinson’s has raised over $815,000 for local Parkinson’s research at Albany Medical Center and Capital Region patient support services, such as Help for Parkinson’s.

The Parkinson’s Center YMCA is the first of its kind in the Capital Region and serves as a community hub for exercise, support, and engagement. The Center provides no-cost memberships for people with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders, as well as their families.
